Job Description Functioning as a senior member of the Development team, the strategy, planning, and execution of Camp Boggy Creek’s fundraising events and points-of-entry experiences are led by the Senior Manager in support of the organization’s mission. Event-based revenue generation, donor and sponsor stewardship, and the professional, on-brand execution of events aligned with overall fundraising goals are the responsibility of this role. The Senior Manager oversees all phases of event development, including planning, peer-to-peer fundraising, volunteer engagement, corporate sponsorship fulfillment, and logistics, while working collaboratively across departments to ensure organizational alignment and strong internal partnerships. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, oversight, and hands-on management for assigned fundraising and point-of-entry events across Florida, ensuring alignment with Camp Boggy Creek’s mission, development strategy, and revenue goals.
- Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive event action plans that strengthen internal events, increase participation, drive revenue growth, and enhance sponsor stewardship, volunteer engagement, and community awareness.
- Recruit, cultivate, and manage event volunteers and fundraising committees to build a strong constituency capable of maximizing event revenue; coordinate committee meetings, prepare materials, and serve as a knowledgeable liaison and resource.
- Accurately track and document all event-related planning, volunteer activity, donor engagement, and revenue using Camp Boggy Creek’s database (Raiser’s Edge), ensuring timely and complete records.
- Achieve established net income goals by managing events within pre-approved budgets, with a clear understanding of both hard revenue targets and strategic “soft” goals that support long-term donor engagement and growth.
- Ensure thorough data collection and documentation for sponsorships and volunteers, including contact information, invoices, quotes, contracts, sponsorship packets, benefit fulfillment, and follow-up activities, while maintaining budgetary compliance.
- Coordinate and manage vendors, gift-in-kind partners, and service providers related to event goods and services, serving as the primary point of contact for deliveries and on-site execution.
- Track event revenue against goals and prepare timely, accurate progress reports and final summaries for leadership and key stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates, written reports, and professional communication to event committees, Camp leadership, sponsors, and other key participants throughout the planning and execution process.
- Solicit, steward, and manage auction item donors, ensuring timely communication, accurate documentation, and thoughtful recognition before, during, and after events.
- Oversee the timely fulfillment of all sponsor benefits and recognition items, ensuring alignment with stewardship and acknowledgement policies.
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Development Officer, Marketing Manager, and Director of Donor Relations to establish clear communication timelines, approved content, and scope of work for all event-related materials across platforms, including social media, print, email, invitations, sponsorship materials, surveys, and post-event communications.
- Demonstrate Camp Boggy Creek’s values and standards of excellence in all interactions, maintaining positive, professional relationships with donors, volunteers, staff, and board members, with donor experiences held to the same standard as camper and volunteer experiences.
- Coordinate timely communication and requests for support from other Camp departments to ensure cross-functional alignment and successful event execution.
- Support donor tours, community events, and related development activities as needed.
- Comply with all Camp Boggy Creek policies and procedures and actively participate in training, meetings, and team initiatives.
- Operate as a self-directed leader with sound judgment, demonstrating a clear understanding of when to engage the Chief Development Officer and senior leadership and when to move forward independently.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Development Officer, contributing to the broader success of the Development team and Camp Boggy Creek.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated success in nonprofit event management, with a proven record of planning, executing, and growing fundraising events.
- Proven ability to think strategically and creatively while remaining highly organized, proactive, and results-driven, with hands-on experience managing multiple priorities and meeting complex deadlines that impact team and revenue goals.
- Demonstrated success in retaining and increasing event participation, sponsorship engagement, and overall event performance.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with donors, volunteers, board members, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong project-management skills, including the ability to independently plan, execute, and adapt complex initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, and team collaboration skills, with a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and diplomacy.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and provide a high level of donor and stakeholder service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Raiser’s Edge or comparable nonprofit CRM systems required.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Work Requirements:
- Position requires availability for evening and weekend hours, with travel throughout the state of Florida as needed.
- This is a full-time, permanent position with increased time demands during peak event planning and execution periods.
Must be able to perform physical activities associated with events, including the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
