Seasonal Offsite Summer Camp Manager

The Seasonal Offsite Summer Camp Manager is responsible for the management of and implementation of the OSC Summer Camp program at 4Roots Farm. The Seasonal Offsite Camp Manager will work closely with the Director of Education Youth Programs to ensure the program is meeting the strategic plan and goals of the organization. The Seasonal Offsite Camp Manager will ensure that seasonal objectives, strategies, and associated attendance goals are met while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and business performance. 

 

Essential Functions 

 

  • Supervises staff members working at the Seasonal offsite camp to include; training, coaching, monitoring, and evaluating of designated employees to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures. 

  • Work with the Director of Youth Programs to monitor enrollment to ensure attendance and revenue goals are being met seasonally.  

  • Coordinate with 4Roots Farm staff on camp operations, safety, and 4Roots camp activities.  

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining caregiver communication and support for 4Roots offsite camp including but not limited to: caregiver inquiries, and incident report communication. 

  • Implement on-going evaluation and customer feedback to ensure superior customer service and exceptional educational programming. 

  • Manage all OSC products at Offsite location to ensure the highest levels of operational efficiency.  

  • Able to apply appropriate policies/procedures, enforce safety regulations, and respond quickly to critical incidents and emergencies. 

  • Communicates and exchanges accurate information with guests, staff, volunteers, and community partners in a variety of formats including in-person, electronically, and over the phone.  

  • Operates a computer and/or office equipment efficiently and accurately. 

  • Demonstrates commitment to OSC’s vision, mission and values. 

  • Must be able to work flexible hours including early mornings and nights as necessary. 

  • Other duties as assigned.  

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Education: Candidates should be degree-seeking or hold a bachelor’s degree in education, science, or a related field. 

  • Experience & Certifications: Experience in coordinating informal education programs and overseeing staff. Experience working with children and youth. Candidates will have to pass a background check and be able to sign an Affidavit of Good Moral Character as per the American Camp Association (ACA). 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in camp program operations or management with exemplary customer service skills. 

  • Experience overseeing custodial care programs. 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 

  • Ability to work in a fast paceteam-oriented environment. 

  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective rapport with all levels or management, employees and camp families. 

  • Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to balance numerous and varied tasks simultaneously 

  • Reliable, organized, self-starter. Ability to work with little direct supervision. 

 

Supervisory Responsibility 

This position is directly responsible for overseeing camp staff members working at the Orlando Science Center Offsite camp at 4Roots farm.  

 

Physical Demands 

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position.   

  • Moves throughout the 4Roots Farm and Education building. 

  • Observes and reacts to the needs of guests, staff, volunteers, and community partners.  

  • Manipulates and moves components weighing up to 25 pounds, including those that may be low to the ground or above eye level.  

  • Frequently works in indoor and outdoor environments. 

  • Coping with demands and stresses associated with job and work environment. 

  • Kneeling and Crouching  

  • Weight Levels – Lift, Push, Pull 

  • Up to 25 pounds 

 
Expected Hours of Work & Travel 

This position is seasonal for the following nine weeks: May 18th – May 21st (Mandatory training); May 25th  May 29thJune 8th – June 12thJune 15th   June 19th ; June 22nd – June 26th ; July 6th – July 10th ; July 13th – July 17th ; July 20th – July 24th; July 27th – July 31st and primarily works Monday – Friday) 

 

Telecommuting 
This position is required to be at OSC or 4Roots Farm 100% of the time.

Pay

$22.50 Per Hour
