Compensation: $18-$22, depending on experience
Schedule: Part-Time, 15 hours per week (may expand to additional hours)
Applicants should be available during standard business hours, Monday-Thursday (8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m), with occasional evenings and weekends based on program needs.

About the Peace and Justice Institute
The Peace and Justice Institute (PJI) is a Central Florida–based nonprofit dedicated to cultivating resilience, connection, and peacebuilding across individuals, organizations, and communities. Our work integrates mindfulness, trauma-informed practice, restorative approaches, storytelling, and arts-based learning. Position Summary

The Program Coordinator works closely with the Academy Director and team to support the development, coordination, and ongoing management of Peace and Justice Institute programs. This role ensures a seamless, high-quality experience for participants, facilitators, and partners through thoughtful planning, clear communication, and strong coordination.


Responsibilities include overseeing logistics, managing schedules, supporting budget tracking, and creating and maintaining program materials, documents, and systems. The role integrates administrative, hospitality, and technical functions and requires managing multiple priorities while paying close attention to detail and caring for the overall participant experience.


This position also helps create a welcoming, relationship-centered learning environment grounded in the Principles for How We Treat Each Other and the Commitments of a Peace and Justice Practitioner. It is both operational and relational. The ideal candidate is highly organized and detail-oriented, grounded, people-centered, and committed to work that fosters connection, reflection, and growth.

Program Delivery & Logistics 
  • Support facilitators and instructors to ensure high-quality program delivery and a positive participant experience
  • Coordinate logistics for workshops, trainings, and events, including scheduling, room setup, and materials preparation 
  • Ensure all facilities are reserved, prepared, and aligned with program needs
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of workshops, series, and special projects. 
  • Assist in organizing and preparing marketing, training and/or learning materials. 
Materials & Inventory Management 
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of books, supplies, and program materials. 
  • Order and purchase materials as needed, including supporting expense tracking and reconciliation.
  • Coordinate pickup, transport, and organization of materials, including use of storage facilities.
  • Maintain organized systems for all program and office materials. 
Administration & Systems Support 
  • Maintain accurate records of programs, participants, and logistics within internal systems
  • Support scheduling, tracking, and documentation across programs
  • Manage the preparation, organization, and distribution of all event and program materials.
  • Prepare reports and updates to support program evaluation and internal communication. 
Collaboration & Community Engagement 
  • Work collaboratively with PJI staff, facilitators, and partners to ensure program success.
  • Model the Principles and Commitments of a Peace and Justice Practitioner in all interactions.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support PJI programs and growth.

Qualifications
PJI values multiple pathways and welcomes candidates whose preparation comes from lived, professional, or community-based experience.
  • Associates' or Bachelor’s degree and experience in office environments.
  • Experience coordinating programs, events, or professional learning initiatives.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a part-time schedule.
  • Ability to perform work requiring a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel to various worksites in the Orlando area, as needed.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse community and meet the needs of diverse populations.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience with Microsoft software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google Drive (Sheets, Docs, etc.), and Adobe.
  • Experience with specialized registration and CRM software, including Qualtrics, FormAssembly, and Salesforce.
  • Alignment with the mission and values of the Peace and Justice Institute.
Working Conditions and Schedule Requirements
  • The position averages approximately 15 hours per week, with scheduling flexibility coordinated with the Academy Director.
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally to procure food, beverages, and event supplies as needed.
  • While performing the duties of this job, noise levels range from quiet to loud. 
  • Typical physical competencies include, but are not limited to, frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, and positioning oneself, and occasionally ascending/descending and lifting/moving objects weighing between 5 and 25 pounds.
  • Consistent daytime availability on weekdays is required to support coordination, communication, and planning. Although rare, occasional evening or weekend hours may be needed to support events.
