Part-Time Bookkeeper
The Winter Park Institute is seeking a part-time nonprofit bookkeeper who will play a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity, operational organization, and reporting accuracy of the Winter Park Institute. This individual will oversee day-to-day bookkeeping functions, support nonprofit financial best practices, manage event-specific accounting, and help ensure the organization’s financial systems are scalable as the organization grows.
This role requires deep QuickBooks expertise, strong nonprofit accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage both organizational and event-based financial workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Institutional Financial Management
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online
Maintain accurate chart of accounts consistent with nonprofit accounting standards
Track and reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and expense reporting
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
Monitor cash flow and support forecasting
Maintain organized financial records and documentation
Support monthly financial close processes
Prepare monthly financial statements and budget-to-actual reports
Coordinate with executive leadership, finance committee, and external CPA/bookkeeping partners
Assist with annual audit preparation, tax documentation, and Form 990 support
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years bookkeeping or financial management experience
Significant nonprofit accounting experience required
Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online
Experience supporting nonprofits or organizations with annual budgets between $1 million and $3 million
Strong understanding of nonprofit financial reporting, internal controls, and best practices
Experience with event or program-specific accounting
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills with ability to support leadership and board-level financial understanding
Local to Central Florida / Greater Orlando area
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with donor management or CRM systems (Bloomerang preferred)
Experience with grant tracking and reporting
Experience in arts, education, nonprofit, or event-driven organizations
Ability to recommend and improve financial systems as organizations scale
