Office Assistant
Overview:
The Bleeding Disorders Foundation of Florida is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Office Assistant to help support daily operations and the success of our programs. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about making a difference in their community. The Office Assistant will work closely with staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure our programs and services run efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, responding to emails, and maintaining organized files and records.
- Assist with scheduling, data entry, and database maintenance.
- Support event coordination, including registration tracking, materials preparation, and occasional on-site assistance.
- Help with communication efforts such as newsletters, mailings, and social media updates.
- Assist in managing inventory and ordering office supplies.
- Greeting visitors and providing a welcoming and professional first point of contact for the organization.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or relevant certifications preferred.
- Prior administrative experience, ideally within a nonprofit or similar environment, is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with social media platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for community service and nonprofit work.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people, including staff, volunteers, and donors.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with donor management or CRM systems.
- Familiarity with event planning or fundraising activities.
- Basic bookkeeping or accounting knowledge.
- Experience creating content for social media or newsletters.
Working Conditions:
- Part-time position (hours to be discussed during interview).
- Monday through Friday schedule, with occasional evening or weekend hours for events.
- Primarily office-based with occasional local travel for outreach or community events.
