Our Mission:
Support Our Scholars is a nonprofit organization empowering exceptional, underprivileged young women to achieve their undergraduate dreams through financial support, mentorship, and life skills development.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Mentors & Scholars oversees all SOS programs—Scholarship, Mentorship, and Sisterhood. This leader ensures that every Scholar and Mentor receives the support needed to thrive, while managing program staff, volunteers, and key partnerships that advance SOS’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead planning and implementation of the Scholarship, Mentorship, and Sisterhood Programs.
- Build strong relationships with Scholars and Mentors, ensuring their engagement and success.
- Recruit and train mentors; coordinate Scholar selection and support processes.
- Oversee program staff, volunteers, and committee collaboration.
- Manage program communications, recordkeeping, and funding disbursements.
- Represent SOS at fundraising and community events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 2–5 years of nonprofit or education experience (higher education preferred).
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational, decision-making, and public speaking abilities.
- High integrity and professionalism with discretion in sensitive matters.
- Reliable transportation; some evening/weekend availability required.

Work Environment
Hybrid position based in Maitland, FL, with regular visits to area high schools and event participation. Some evening and weekend work is required.
