Marketing Specialist
Job Summary
The Marketing Specialist will lead and implement strategies that elevate the mission, programs, and impact of Camp Boggy Creek. Working in close collaboration with the Chief Development Officer, and senior leadership, this role ensures the integrity of camp’s overall branding, to ensure consistent, compelling, and mission-driven communications.
The role will engage in support to ensure all marketing and communications efforts across departments—including digital platforms, social media, print, website, media outreach, and event promotion—are timely accurate and a unified voice that engages donors, families, volunteers, and partners. This position requires the understanding of ‘why’ and working to create emotion and conversion of donors, volunteers and camper families.

Job Tasks / Responsibilities (Marketing Specialist)
- Work in close collaboration with the CEO and Chief Development Officer to support Camp Boggy Creek’s branding, messaging, and overall public image through consistent, mission-aligned communications.
- Assist in the creation and coordination of marketing collateral across departments, ensuring consistency in branding, messaging, and design under established guidelines.
- Maintain and manage the organization’s communications calendar, supporting deadlines for direct mail, stewardship pieces, annual reports, fundraising events, volunteer programs, and camper sessions.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and volunteers as needed for print, design, photography, video, and other creative production projects.
- Maintain and update the Camp Boggy Creek website by adding approved content such as staff updates, events, and program information to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Assist in building, testing, and maintaining campaign landing pages for donations in coordination with the development and fundraising teams.
- Support the Development teams by helping gather and review engagement and conversion data and assisting with basic reporting and insights.
- Attend camp events to capture photos, video, and stories featuring campers, families, volunteers, donors, and other stakeholders.
- Create and publish social media content across Camp Boggy Creek platforms, monitor engagement, and report basic performance metrics.
- Assist in producing recap videos and highlight content for key events such as camper sessions, family weekends, and fundraising activities.
- Support execution of marketing plans for fundraising events and programs, including assisting with collateral creation, media coordination, and promotional outreach.
- Provide support for tours, presentations, and donor or stakeholder visits as needed.
- Collaborate with development and program teams to support fundraising, volunteer engagement, and program visibility through storytelling and communications support.
- Demonstrate initiative, responsiveness, and teamwork by proactively supporting departmental needs and asking how assistance can be provided.
- Use storytelling through photography, video, and written content to help communicate the mission and impact of Camp Boggy Creek, working towards conversions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support organizational goals and mission delivery.

Qualifications/skills:
Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
- Connection: Understanding all marketing is connected to a goal of emotion creating a conversion of action. This includes funding, volunteer, and camper conversion to engage.
- Marketing Strategy: Experience and understanding developing and executing integrated marketing and communication plans.
- Digital Marketing: Proficiency in email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact, Mailchimp, HubSpot) and ability to segment and track campaigns. Social media included.
- Website Management: Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace) and ability to update and maintain web content.
- Analytics: Proficiency with Google Analytics and social media insights to track performance and recommend improvements.
- Graphic Design Tools: Working knowledge of design software such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Video Production: Basic ability to capture, edit, and produce videos for digital platforms (Adobe Premiere, iMovie, or similar).
- Photography: Ability to capture high-quality photos for marketing, social media, and storytelling.
- Copywriting & Storytelling: Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills for web, print, and social media.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, vendors, and timelines using tools such as Asana, Trello, or Monday.com.
- CRM/Database Systems knowledge a plus Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, Bloomerang) to support development efforts is helpful.
Physical Essential Functions:
- The role may require long periods of sitting, additionally the employee will be expected to perform intermittent physical activity, including, but not limited to, bending and reaching.
- Work in the camp setting requires exposure to the outdoors, including occasional camp tours. The employee must occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- The employee must possess the physical strength and endurance required to perform the job up to standard throughout the duration of employment while remaining physically, emotionally, and intellectually safe.
Emotional/Social Essential Functions:
- The employee will be expected to have flexibility to occasionally work weekends and evenings as needed to support events and camp-wide activities/initiatives.
- The employee will be expected to manage their personal life to ensure capability of performing job up to standard. The employee is required to communicate with, work with, and provide instruction and information to a variety of Camp staff and stakeholders, including camper families, volunteers, and donors.
- The employee must possess the mental and emotional strength and endurance to perform the job up to standard throughout the duration of employment while promoting the values of kindness, joyfulness, collaboration, and inclusiveness.
- Follow Welcome Center professional dress code as needed.
- Remote work is possible with prior approval of direct supervisor
