REPORTS TO: Executive Director

LOCATION: Hybrid, some work may be virtual, but some work may require this individual to be onsite at Harriett’s Orlando Ballet Centre, 600 N. Lake Formosa Drive, Orlando, FL 32803

POSITION DATE: August 2025 for 4-6 weeks

POSITION STATUS: Contractor, 15-20 hours per week

COMPENSATION: Range: $75-100/hour

Basic Purpose and Objective of the Role:

Orlando Ballet seeks an experienced marketing professional to provide interim leadership and support for the marketing team while we conduct our search for a full-time Director of Marketing & Sales. This execution-focused role will lead the marketing team in implementing our existing marketing plan, ensuring seamless operations, and meeting all critical deadlines during this transitional period. The Interim Director oversees both the Marketing & Communications and Sales & Ticketing departments.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Team Oversight & Coordination

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to existing staff and external agency partners:
  • Internal:
  • Oversees 1 Manager and 1 Coordinator in each department (Marketing & Communications; Sales & Ticketing)
  • Oversees 1 Graphic Designer (Marketing)
    • Agency:
      • Think Integrated – Creative Development, Website Management, Paid Advertising
      • TBD – General Public Relations
      • Sara Brady PR – Crisis Communications
      • Alexander Babbage – Research & Insights
      • Carolina Grabova – Influencer Strategy & Execution
  • Maintain existing partnerships with community organizations, tourism groups, local chambers, key hotels, destination marketing partners, and other corporate partners, and oversee execution of planned partner activations and sponsorship initiatives
  • Coordinate workflow and task assignments to ensure efficient execution of marketing plan
  • Conduct regular check-ins with staff to track progress and address immediate challenges 

Cross-Departmental Support

  • Interface with Artistic and Administrative leadership to ensure marketing alignment
  • Work closely with the Events Manager on partner marketing activations
  • Collaborates with the Education and Development teams to support enrollment and philanthropic goals

Marketing Plan Execution

  • Oversee the execution of all established brand, content, PR, digital, creative, and communications strategies and initiatives according to existing timelines and specifications
  • Ensure consistency of brand voice, visual identity, and storytelling across all channels and programs
  • Monitor and report on campaign performance and make tactical adjustments within approved parameters
  • Maintain marketing calendar and ensure all deadlines are met
  • Oversee creative agency including campaign development, branding, and design support
  • Supervise the in-house creative process, including direction for graphic design, print, and digital assets
  • Oversee all public-facing communications including email, announcements, newsletters, and invitations

 Sales & Ticketing Operations Support

  • Oversee all performance-based and program-based ticketing needs for the organization
  • Monitor sales performance against targets and implement approved tactical adjustments in pricing, promotions, and segmentation strategies to maximize yield
  • Oversee Box Office/Patron Services to strengthen retention and service models
  • Direct all transactional and experiential communications to ensure high satisfaction and alignment with marketing messaging

Research & Insights

  • Maintain and monitor data collection to inform audience development, segmentation, content planning, pricing, and experience design
  • Oversee the population of dashboards and regular reporting for internal stakeholders and the Executive Director

Required Qualifications: 

  • 5–7 years of senior-level experience in marketing, ticketing, and revenue strategy roles
  • Demonstrated team leadership and project management experience
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Deep knowledge of digital tools, social media, paid advertising, and content marketing, including an understanding of platform-specific best practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategy
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize competing demands, and meet tight deadlines with professionalism
