Events & Engagement Manager

The Events & Engagement Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing events that align with the organization’s mission and goals. This role involves coordinating logistics, managing budgets, and ensuring that events run smoothly to engage donors, volunteers, and community members. The Events & Engagement Manager will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to create impactful experiences that drive awareness and support for the nonprofit’s initiatives.

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead our engagement efforts with our RMHCCF stakeholders and Central Florida community. The manager will steer and produce the culture of our events according to our organization’s mission and strategy. This person will manage and grow existing events and design and execute new high touch events, including RMHCCF signature events and Key Initiative events. High-level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making, and problem-solving ability, and attention to detail are equally important.


Essential Job Functions


  • Proactively plans, implements, and manages all RMHCCF signature events, including but not limited to Appetite for the Arches, the Golf Classic, Block Party for the Houses, and the Sporting Clays Tournament.
  • Coordinates and manages Key Initiative, the organization’s young professional group, and their annual events.
  • Acts as primary contact, operational planner, project manager, and facilitator of all events.
  • Identifies and works with special events vendors to coordinate logistics of events.
  • Coordinate all event logistics, including venue selection, catering, audiovisual needs, and transportation.
  • Manages existing sponsor partners and actively identifies and seeks out new partners for sponsorship.
  • Works with the Chief Development Officer to develop sponsorship bundling packages for identification and solicitation of partners.
  • Coordinates all event committee activities and meetings, and actively recruits members.
  • Clearly defines staff and volunteer coverage for event preparation, delivery acceptance, event oversight, and event wrap-up/assessment.
  • Actively recruits, hires, and manages any event interns throughout the year.
  • Works with Marketing staff for promotion of event, production of event materials, and event signage.
  • Responsible for developing event budgets and maintaining costs within the approved budgets.
  • Generates regular reports tracking events, revenue, and expenses within areas of responsibility.
  • Develops/brainstorms additional value and new features for any and all events.
  • Evaluates each event’s purpose and success and completes a SWOT analysis on each.


Ancillary Job Functions


May occasionally be asked to support community fundraising events at off-site locations.



Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.


Bachelor’s degree preferred

1-2 years minimum experience in event planning and management, preferably within a nonprofit setting

Experience with soliciting and negotiating contracts with vendors and event venues

Knowledge of databases and their capabilities

Possess strong office skills and knowledge of general office equipment

Excellent calendar management skills

Strong proficiency of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Valid Florida driver’s license and operable vehicle.

Microsoft Office suite and Outlook proficiency, with above average skillset in Excel. Ability to learn virtual platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams within 90 days of hire. Is astute in learning, using, and recommending new technologies.

Work Environment – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.


Exposed to moderate noise levels.

Frequent interruptions, ability to multitask key.

Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Must be available to work irregular hours, shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
