ELSSA BACKGROUND:

The Early Learning Shared Services Alliance is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides high quality business management support services to small childcare programs that serve low-income communities. As a shared services alliance of small centers and home-based childcare providers, ELSSA address gaps in resources, business experience, and capacity through a centralized hub of back-office administrative services so that providers can focus on quality programming and education.


ELSSA launched in 2021 with a pilot program serving 10 providers in Central Florida. With recent awards from various funding sources, ELSSA has grown to serving over 50 childcare providers in Orange, Seminole, Brevard and Osceola counties.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Operations will work closely with the Executive Director to oversee the execution and administration of the program’s overall objectives. This includes oversight and supervision of ELSSA’s core functional areas: Childcare Business Coaching; Childcare Workforce Development Management; Staff Recruitment Services; Digital Marketing; and specialized administrative duties.


We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Director to join our team. This pivotal role offers a unique and exciting career trajectory, with the opportunity to advance to the position of Executive Director within 6 to 12 months based on performance and leadership impact.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


1. Supports the Executive Director with strategic internal management of ELSSA 

  • Supports in the oversight of marketing and enrollment management, staff recruiting, childcare workforce development management, software implementation and training, and financial management.
  • Ensures quality service delivery that meets the needs of childcare programs.
  • Develops an internal metrics dashboard to measure outcomes and tracks monthly data to ensure the ELSSA team is on target to meet its goals.
  • Works with Executive Director to determine cost/benefit of administrative services to determine optimal timing for hiring internal staff and/or expansion of services
  • Collaborates with Executive Director on developing service model for supporting childcare businesses, future growth plans and funding strategies.

2.   Manages Business Coaches to ensure success with service providers

  • Collaborates with service providers and Childcare Business Coach(s) to ensure full enrollment, optimal staffing and financial stability of providers.
  • Analyzes program data to ensure Coaches are on the right path to meeting providers’ business goals.
  • Designs Coaching team meetings and/or tag ups to establish a cohesive and aligned focus to implement coaching program directives.

3. Supervises Childcare Workforce Development Manager

  • Analyzes program data and collaborates with the Workforce Development Manager to ensure intern program meets the needs of the providers and funders.
  • Tracks engagement of Intern service providers, keeping quality service delivery in mind.
  • Develops Workforce Development Manager to drive success in maintaining a pipeline of qualified teachers for local childcare providers.

4.   Manages Onboarding, Coaching Implementation, and Marketing Strategies

  • Collaborates with service providers, program directors and Childcare Business Coach(s) to ensure successful onboarding and continued support experience.
  • Develops and maintains tracking system to ensure marketing programs are effective, streamlined, and cost effective for all program participants.
  • Delivers a culture of extreme customer service deriving from integrity, time and effort, and personalization of messaging in all connections with ELSSA supported providers.

  • Understands and maintains private and sensitive information within the confines of ELSSA’s confidentiality policies and need-to know parameters.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

1.   A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business or related field

2.   At least two (4-6) years’ experiences in a business or administrative setting with fiscal management responsibilities and management/supervisory experience, preferably in the childcare industry

3.   Highly organized, effective communicator, and process-oriented

4.   Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

5.   Facility with learning new software tools

6.   Fluency in Spanish preferred


SALARY & BENEFITS:

  • Annual salary $75,000-$85,000, depending on experience
