Director of Community Relations and Marketing
The Director of Community Relations and Marketing is instrumental in shaping and promoting our community culture. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing comprehensive brand strategies, stakeholder communications, and public relations efforts that elevate our market presence. Key responsibilities include managing and developing all aspects of branding and communications—such as website content, email campaigns, event marketing materials, stakeholder initiatives, publications, reports, press releases, and media list management—to drive positive brand awareness.
This leader will lead the creation and execution of strategic branding, communication, and marketing initiatives designed to enhance RMHCCF's visibility, reputation, and impact. By crafting compelling content, managing media relations including leadership of the crisis communication plan, and overseeing targeted marketing campaigns, the Director of Community Relations and Marketing will ensure our mission and goals resonate effectively with all audiences.
Digital Marketing, Communications, & Fundraising
- Brand Management: Monitor, manage, and uphold the organization’s brand and reputation across all platforms.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work collaboratively with programs and departments to execute branding initiatives and fulfill collateral requests, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational goals.
- Represent RMHCCF at Chapter and Global Meetings and Conferences; Seek best practices in field
- Website Management: Update and maintain website content, working closely with web developers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Online Fundraising: Lead all online fundraising activities, including peer-to-peer giving, email campaigns, Giving Tuesday, and end-of-year initiatives, driving donor engagement and contributions.
- Email and CRM Optimization Partner with the Data Administrator to ensure the email system and CRM operate efficiently, enhancing user experience and data management.
- Social Media Oversight: Manage and maintain social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, ensuring consistent branding and messaging.
- Marketing Planning: Lead the development of annual marketing and social media plans, aligning them with organizational objectives.
- Content Creation: Create and design engaging copy, graphics, and videos for events and charity programs, driving awareness and engagement.
- Family Photo/Video Shoots: Plan and execute family photo/video shoots, coordinating with volunteer photographers to ensure seamless execution and high-quality content.
- Email Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute an annual email marketing plan, utilizing Blackbaud’s Luminate and RENXT to create and distribute impactful communications.
Traditional Marketing & Communications
- Annual Marketing Calendar: Lead the development and execution of the Annual Marketing Calendar, ensuring strategic alignment with organizational goals.
- Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communication strategies, setting measurable goals to track success.
- Community Outreach: Strategize and plan regional community outreach, marketing, and stakeholder engagement initiatives to expand the organization’s impact.
- Crisis Communications: Oversee reputation management efforts, leadership of the comprehensive crisis communications framework and plan.
- Creative Design: Utilize Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, to design and produce branded marketing materials such as signage, brochures, flyers, stationery, appeal letters, and donor stewardship assets.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure consistent branding across all organizational materials and communications.
- Annual Report Coordination: Lead the coordination of the annual report project, orchestrating the collection of data and content from various departments to produce a cohesive and impactful final report.
- Bilingual Communications: Leverage bilingual skills to enhance communications and media relations, effectively targeting diverse audiences and stakeholders, including media contacts, while capturing and sharing the stories of Spanish-speaking families.
- Marketing and Advertising: Identify and pursue marketing and advertising opportunities to elevate the organization’s profile.
Fundraising and Event Support
- Event Creative Assets: Design and produce creative assets for events, including branding, videos, programs, signage, and digital graphics, to enhance the event experience.
- Event Registration: Create and manage event registration pages in collaboration with the Data Administrator, ensuring a smooth and user-friendly process.
- Sponsor Recognition: Collaborate with the Events Manager to develop comprehensive branding and sponsor recognition strategies for the annual Signature Events and Key Initiative Events.
- Event Logistics: Assist with event logistics, including set-up, on-site duties, and post-event clean-up, ensuring successful execution.
Public Relations
- Media Relations: Identify and manage the master media list, cultivating strong relationships with local media outlets, including print, radio, and TV.
- Press Releases: Write and distribute press releases, ensuring accurate and timely coverage of organizational news and events.
- Media Coordination: Coordinate media interviews and coverage as needed, managing all aspects of media engagement, including photoshoots, news appearances, and video editing.
- Crisis Communications: Manage press inquiries related to crisis communications, family stories, event coverage, and other newsworthy topics.
- Fundraising Campaigns: Coordinate media interviews and coverage for fundraising campaigns, such as Giving Tuesday, ensuring maximum visibility and impact.
- Spokesperson Coordination: Work with spokespersons and leadership to prepare and coordinate media interviews, providing messaging, background information, and coaching as needed.
- Support RMHCCF special events at off-site locations
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, digital communications, or other related field required
- Master’s Degree preferred
- At least five years of a combination of marketing,communications, or public relations experience
- required
- At least 3-5 years supervision and management experience required
- Solid proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro)
- Strong CRM software experience
- Possess strong office skills and knowledge of general office equipment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
- Valid Florida driver’s license and operable vehicle
- Ability to initiate and build relationships with local media and interact via telephone and in person
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a talent for building strong and productive relationships across constituencies
