Position Overview:
Hope Community Center is seeking a full-time Director of Organizing to lead our organization's organizing and advocacy initiatives, primarily by building and driving a team of organizers, community leaders, and partners to turn the resources we have into the power we need to win tangible change for Immigrant, LGBTQ+, and Black communities and families in Central FL and beyond.
The ideal candidate is a natural, seasoned leader who is wired toward developing a new team of organizers and leaders to meet ambitious impact goals. They will bring a passion for engaging with coalition partners, policymakers, nonprofit leaders, and constituents to bring about real policy change with and through leaders who are directly impacted and their allies. While also building power and resiliency from within to face the many challenges our communities face socially, environmentally, and economically.
Primary Job Functions
Build and grow an organizing team that leads an integrated impact approach that leverages services, education, organizing, and mistica (soul) towards building our resilience and power to win change for our communities.
Develop local campaigns that address the needs and desires of our Hope communities and exercise leadership on Hope’s behalf in state and national spaces.
Develop internal and external training opportunities for staff and members to level up their organizing and political education.
Drive a scalable and quantifiable base-building program through civic engagement and community-building tools.
Track successes and grant compliance.
Act as an internal advocate for leadership development and constantly look for ways to engage leaders found through services delivered by HCC.
Lead the ongoing development of Hope CommUniversity, ensuring it becomes a central pathway for organizing, leadership development, and community empowerment.
Collaborate closely with Hope’s leadership team to keep HCU at the core of Hope’s mission, integrating it with all programs by identifying emerging leaders who can grow through HCU’s offerings.
Serve as a member of the organization’s leadership team.

Managing our 3 organizers (Youth, LGBTQ+, and Campaigns’ lead).
Setting up the organizing office to be a space that serves the community and staff.
Driving our Hope CommUniversity, leadership development, and program efforts.
Leading our civic engagement and community engagement strategy.
Meeting and developing a joint plan for the Florida Legislative Session.
Developing Hope communities (neighborhood teams).
Working with the service departments to identify leaders to power our grassroots efforts.

Strategic thinking: Will take ownership of strategic thinking to identify effective ways to advance our cause,
Communicator: Comfort with public speaking including political education, facilitating groups, speaking to the media about issues affecting marginalized communities and conducting trainings for staff, volunteers and community members.
Familiarity with the local community is a plus. Prior experience in immigration and LGBTQ+ organizing and advocacy is also beneficial.

Structure
This is a full-time position. Schedule will include 40 hours hours a week with some evening and weekend work required occasionally. The role requires travel.
Salary
The salary range for this position is $70,000 - 80,000, with the exact salary depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, and a retirement plan.
