POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Development & Outreach Specialist plays a vital role on AGFT’s development team, supporting efforts to grow funding, strengthen donor engagement, and promote our mission. Reporting to the Vice President of Development & Marketing, this position helps execute fundraising and outreach activities that empower our work to provide essential educational resources to Central Florida students. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Support fundraising efforts across individual, corporate, and foundation donors 

  • Collaborate with the President and VP to maintain and implement a donor stewardship plan, ensuring clear communication of donor impact 

  • Work closely with the Director of Marketing to align fundraising messages with AGFT’s brand and mission 

  • Maintain and update donor records in the CRM database; assist in analyzing fundraising data and campaign performance 

  • Partner with the Executive Assistant to ensure accurate record-keeping and timely acknowledgments 

  • Serve as the lead contact for workplace giving campaigns; deliver engaging presentations to employee groups 

  • Host and lead informative tours of AGFT, following up with attendees to build ongoing relationships 

  • Act as liaison for third-party fundraising events, providing timely support and resources 

  • Represent AGFT at external events (e.g., Chamber of Commerce, Rotary clubs, Visit Orlando) or making presentations when appropriate 

  • Oversee the grants calendar to ensure timely submissions and reporting, with occasional support in grant writing 

  • Help gather and analyze organizational data to support grant proposals and reporting 

  • Foster a collaborative and respectful team culture by participating in internal activities like staff meetings, retreats, and celebrations 

  • Work alongside the VP of Development and Marketing to run the Kits for Kids program engaging the convention center, local hotels, and event planners 

  • Perform other duties as assigned 

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 

  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and follow-up skills (both written and verbal) 

  • Outstanding customer service mindset 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, donor databases, and social media platforms 

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities 

  • Comfortable lifting up to 30 lbs. and standing for extended periods 

  • Confident speaking about AGFT’s mission in both individual and group settings 

  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for events 

  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively
