
Development Manager
Overview: The Development Manager is a key member of the Development Team for Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, responsible for building relationships, engaging donors, and securing financial support to further the organization’s mission. This role involves identifying funding opportunities, engaging with the community, and coordinating events and outreach efforts to meet fundraising goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and community partners to increase support.
• Develop and execute strategies to engage and retain existing donors while expanding the donor base.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective donors through personalized communications, meetings, and events.
• Provide timely and meaningful acknowledgment and recognition for donor contributions.
• Supervise and guide the Development Coordinator, ensuring alignment with fundraising goals and priorities.
• Delegate tasks related to donor research, database management, and event logistics, providing ongoing support and performance feedback.
• Collaborate with the Development Coordinator to track donor engagement and maintain accurate records in the donor management system.
• Support the planning and execution of fundraising events such as galas, auctions, and third-party, and community engagement initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal team, vendors, and community partners to ensure successful event execution.
• Represent the organization at events, ensuring donors and stakeholders feel welcomed and appreciated.
• Represent the organization at community events, networking opportunities, and public speaking engagements to raise awareness and funds.
• Host on-campus tours for donors, partners, and community stakeholders, providing insights into the Coalition’s programs and services.
• Actively participate in networking to establish connections with potential funders and supporters.
• Work closely with the Director of Development and development team to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with marketing staff to develop promotional materials and donor communications for fundraising initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience in fundraising, sales, or donor relations is a plus.
• Proficiency in donor management software (e.g., DonorPerfect, OneCause).
Required Skills
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with donors, stakeholders, and team members.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Strong marketing skills, including content creation, social media strategy, and campaign management.
• Passion for the organization’s mission and the ability to inspire others to support it.
• Exceptional organizational and project management abilities.
