Company Summary
Position Purpose
To develop and manage systems to increase individual donors, cultivate and acknowledge current donors, and increase grant opportunities through involvement in fundraising activities and special events. To develop and implement engagement & communications plans and activities to improve overall proceeds and to plan, manage, and implement all fundraising events and activities. Manage donor database to maximize donor cultivation and development activities.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong donor and foundation relationships to increase participation among individuals committed to The Mustard Seed mission
- Research and write a minimum of 4 grants per month. Maintain report status and meet deadlines.
- Responsible for the Donor Perfect software to facilitate the storage, retrieval, reporting, modification, and deletion of data.
- Manage community efforts and recognition events focusing on improved visibility and increased frequency of media coverage, including agency’s Social Media presence.
- Manage all social platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Instagram
- Manage and oversee events including securing venues, vendors, sponsors, committee members, attendees, and keeping up with related tasks.
- Communicate TMS programs and mission to the public through public speaking and written word
- Research and implement various marketing strategies to remain competitive and enhance the presence of TMS
- Provide monthly reports on social media numbers and statistics
- Work with TMS vendors such as printers, graphic designers, etc.
- Track and input donations into organization database
- Compose and mail out donor acknowledgement letters
- Write press releases and pitch stories to media
- Create marketing materials such as flyers, direct mail pieces, banners and other materials.
- Collect and manage measurable data from all marketing campaigns
- Update website with fresh content and information and edit and manage backend
- Interview and write stories about TMS clients
- Manage all fundraising events and special initiatives to maximum effect
- Assist Executive Director in broadening all fundraising activities and sources of revenue
Authority:
The Manager acts within The Mustard Seed policies and applicable federal, state, and local legislation to do what is necessary to effectively accomplish major responsibilities. The Manager may not authorize expenditures over $1,000.00 at this time. All contracts must have the approval of the Executive Director.
Required Qualifications
Must be experienced with Microsoft 365, Office suite, Outlook programs, Donor Perfect, word press and canva.
Fundraising / development experience with proven success meeting established goals/targets
Event planning experience
- High energy and creative entrepreneurial spirit required. The work is sometimes performed under pressure when the stress of deadlines occurs.
- A strong and unwavering commitment to ethical business practices, including honesty and integrity.
- Must have a pleasant and upbeat demeanor, both on the phone and in person, with excellent communication skills.
- Superior interpersonal skills, especially in relating to clients and donors of different backgrounds, ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations and abilities.
- Possess a four-year college degree minimum or equivalent related experience
- Must submit to drug and background employment screening tests. Due to nature of work this person must be able to enter a residence and interact with clients without legal restraints.
- Must have valid driver’s license and a vehicle.
Physical Requirements
The position requires extensive computer use so the employee must have enough hand dexterity to use a computer keyboard and be capable of reading a computer screen. While performing the duties of this job the Manager is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
