
Coffee Spot Coordinator
The Coffee Spot Coordinator is responsible for ensuring Florida State regulations and Orlando Science Center standards are met in coffee and food handling. This position will also be expected to provide exceptional customer service to OSC visitors and educating visitors on the history of coffee.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for the daily monitoring of revenue, activating a recovery plan should revenue fall behind during the fiscal month and achieving all financial goals applicable to the department.
- Knowledgeable about all menu items and beverages served.
- Able to answer visitors’ questions regarding such with confidence and accuracy.
- Has complete knowledge and skill of operating/maintaining/cleaning coffee equipment for daily use.
- Prepares all coffee drinks to specification.
- Possess a valid Florida driver’s license, maintain a clear driving record, and retain driving approval through OSC’s insurance company.
- Maintains staff schedule within budgeted dollars.
- Conducts weekly inventory assessments and communicating needs to Guest Services Manager.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitized work area.
- Always adhere to health and safety standards.
- Provides job shadowing to all baristas.
- Maintains a high level of customer service with OSC Visitors and Members.
- Follows cashiering policy and OSC procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience & Certifications: 1-2 years of Barista experience, 1-2 years of cash handling experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Cupper, Barista or other comparable certification a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Point Of Sales applications.
- Barista, customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
- Exceptional time management skill, organization skills, and high attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Food Management certification a plus.

- Ascends/descends stairs throughout the museum.
- Ascends/descends ladders or other equipment to perform various tasks.

- Communicates and exchanges accurate information with guests, staff, volunteers, and community partners in a variety of formats including in-person, electronically, and over the phone.
- Operates a computer and/or office equipment efficiently and accurately.
- Manipulates and moves components weighing up to 50 pounds, including those that may be low to the ground or above eye level.
- Rarely works in outdoor environments.
- Frequently works in indoor environments.
- Coping with demands and stresses associated with job and work environment.

Expected Hours of Work & Travel
- This position is full-time and must be able to work weekends and after hour events as needed.
Telecommuting
This position is required to be onsite 100% of the time.
