Job Purpose Summary:

The Assistant Director of Jewish Pavilion Senior Services plays a key leadership role in enhancing the visibility, fundraising, community engagement, and operational excellence of the organization. This position focuses on major gifts, sponsorships, social media strategy, board and volunteer coordination, and supports internal operations and development efforts. The Assistant Director also contributes to marketing and public relations, and helps sustain meaningful programming and support for Jewish seniors in Central Florida.


Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising and Development

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, and grant-making organizations.
  • Solicit gifts ($1,000+) and annual sponsorships.
  • Participate in fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Develop and maintain donor stewardship strategies and expand planned giving initiatives.

Community Relations & Outreach

  • Network actively in the Jewish and broader Central Florida community.
  • Represent the organization at networking events and with organizations like the Chamber of Commerce, and various community coalitions.
  • Expand partnerships with sponsors, media, individuals and community agencies.

Board, Staff and Volunteer Management

  • Assist the Executive Director in organizing and coordinating Board meetings and communications.
  • Oversee staffing, activities and regular meetings of the Friends (volunteer) Board.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and mission-driven work environment.

Marketing, Public Relations & Social Media

  • Review marketing strategy to enhance organizational visibility.
  • Participate in the creation of promotional materials
  • Write emotionally impactful stories for print and digital platforms.
  • Oversee all social media campaigns and web-based marketing tools. Work with external marketing firm on Jewish Pavilion websites.
  • Participate in planning key messaging, elevator pitches, and media kits.

Young Adult Engagement

  • Create and lead a dynamic Young Adult Division to build future Jewish Pavilion and community leaders.
  • Coordinate meetings, volunteer events, and social gatherings
  • Design and execute a targeted social media plan to engage young adults
  • Develop a leadership development pipeline for continued community involvement.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Deep understanding of and engagement in the Jewish community.
  • Proven fundraising experience, especially in securing gifts and sponsorships.
  • Strong computer and software proficiency (including Microsoft Office)  
  • Outstanding communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal.
  • Knowledge of marketing tools and public relations strategies.
  • Ability to lead, manage, and motivate staff and volunteers.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and representing the organization externally.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of aging, elder care, and senior resource networks.
  • Ability and desire to learn new software and database programs, as needed.
  • Grant writing and media relations experience.
  • Experience in non-profit leadership or community-based programs.
