
Vice President of Development
The Vice President of Development is a key leader at UCP of Central Florida, charged with fueling our mission through philanthropy and building a culture of generosity that matches the scale of our vision. Leading a growing team and serving as a close partner to the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior leadership, the Senior Director will design and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that sustains and expands our organization.
Lead with Vision
- Develop and implement a bold, multi-faceted fundraising plan aligned with organizational goals to meet or exceed revenue goals.
- Supervise, mentor, and inspire development team members while helping to grow team capacity over time.
- Serve as the staff lead with the board - engaging members as champions and connectors.
- Partner with senior leaders to integrate philanthropy across all programs and services.
Inspire Generosity
Cultivate and steward major donors, ensuring transformational gifts are secured and Expand corporate and foundation partnerships that align with strategic initiatives.
- Lead campaigns, annual appeals, and signature events that elevate visibility and impact.
- Share powerful stories of change, turning data and outcomes into inspiration.
- Oversee donor recognition and stewardship programs to ensure meaningful engagement and retention.
Build Community
- Act as a visible ambassador for UCP of Central Florida, representing the mission with authenticity and passion building a pipeline of prospective donors and institutional funders.
- Engage staff, volunteers, and board members as active partners in fundraising.
- Foster lasting relationships that create a sense of shared purpose and belonging among supporters.
- Oversee development-related communications, including appeals, newsletters, and impact reports.
- Ensure consistent, mission-driven messaging in all donor communications and public-facing materials.
Ensure Excellence
- Oversee grant proposal strategy and preparation (including writing of grants), reporting, and funder relationships.in partnership with program staff.
- Ensure best-in-class stewardship, donor recognition, and CRM/database management.
- Monitor performance against fundraising metrics, budgets and progress towards goals and provide transparent, inspiring updates to leadership and the Board.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards in fundraising.
Experience Required:
10+ years of progressive fundraising experience, with demonstrated success leading development in large, complex, multi-service organizations.
Proven ability to secure major and transformational gifts, and to build long-term donor relationships.
Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills – ability to engage donors, board members and community leaders.
Experience supervising and growing teams.
Exceptional written and verbal communication and storytelling skills.
A deep commitment to advancing equity, inclusion, and opportunities for individuals of all abilities.
Strategic thinker with the ability to balance vision with hands-on execution.
Familiarity with donor database/CRM systems (i.e. DonorPerfect)
