GRAPHIC DESIGNER


Job Description: 

Create, curate, and design graphics to meet specific promotional needs of the Company inclusive of, but not limited to, show logos, displays, advertising, brochures, program books, and other collateral pieces needed throughout the season. Designer may use a variety of mediums to achieve artistic or decorative effects, but all digital work will be done in the Adobe Creative Suite of products.


Reports to: Artistic Director


Duties:

• Key information into computer equipment to create layouts for client or supervisor

• Review final layouts and suggest improvements, as needed

• Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and select style and

size of type

• Develop graphics and layouts for event illustrations, logo, advertising, program book, and website pages

• Create designs, concepts, and sample layouts, based on knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts

• Use computer software to generate designs and images.

• Prepare digital files for printing

• Confer with team to determine layout design based on brand guidelines and client input

• Maintain archive of images, logo treatments, photos, videos, and graphics

• Draft notes and email instructions for vendors who will handle final layouts for printing or digital placement

• Prepare illustrations or rough sketches of material, discussing them with supervisors and making necessary changes

• Serve as a brand ambassador for all Company events and functions

• All other duties as assigned


Responsibilities:

• In collaboration with the marketing team, design layout of art for all Company marketing, advertising, and promotional initiatives

• Develop and/or refine designs given feedback and input from the marketing team

• Create computer-generated graphics or animation as required

• Capture and curate assets, i.e. photography and video as needed

• Perform administrative or clerical tasks, maintaining records, documents, or other related marketing files

• Conduct research to inform art, designs, or other work

• Proof and edit provided written materials


Education, Experience and Knowledge:

• Education – High school degree required, or verification of certificate, apprenticeship program or portfolio of work to demonstrate skill set. 

• Professional Experience – 2+ years of graphic design or related creative design experience is preferred with in-depth experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign at a minimum required.

• Design — Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of marketing and advertising assets and collateral.

• Computers and Electronics — Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including how to work in a corporate structure through the cloud.

• Fine Arts — Knowledge of the theory and techniques required to compose, produce, and prepare artwork

• Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Spanish-speaking / bilingual preferred.


Physical Requirements:

• Position can be remote but training must be done in person in Orlando

• An in-office workspace is available should the candidate want to work there

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, working on a computer and doing repetitive motions

• Virtual attendance to meetings required, in person attendance encouraged
