Pay/Benefits:    $70,000 inclusive of a benefits stipend. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Paid Leave & Holidays.

Location:        In-person (Orlando/Winter Park) with some remote flexibility

Position Summary:

The Grants & Development Manager is a key member of RCF’s Development Team, reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer, and is responsible for overseeing a broad fundraising portfolio that includes grant writing and management, donor communications, fundraising campaigns, and events. This role blends strategic thinking with strong organizational and writing skills to ensure the effective execution of all grant and development activities. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized, with experience managing grant proposals, donor databases (DonorPerfect preferred), and fundraising timelines. They are a strong communicator and collaborative team member who is passionate about educational equity and eager to support RCF’s mission to ensure every child has access to high-quality literacy instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

-Research and identify grants that align with REED’s mission and programming, with a focus on multi-year, high-impact, and capacity-building funding opportunities.

-Write, revise, and finalize grant proposals, incorporating team feedback and aligning narratives with funder priorities and evidence of REED’s impact.

-Submit grant proposals and support the Chief Development Officer in identifying and cultivating relationships with funders, champions, and referral contacts who can recommend REED for awards.

-Track grant deadlines and reporting requirements, maintaining detailed records in a centralized system and ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.

-Manage and maintain the DonorPerfect database, including accurate donation entry, deduplication, online form optimization, and data uploads from other donation-related software including Paybee, PayPal, and other platforms.

-Produce weekly development reports for leadership, summarizing key fundraising metrics, campaign performance, and donor engagement trends.

-Generate weekly donation reports and support stewardship workflows, including prompt thank-you letters, donor communications, and annual tax acknowledgment letters.

-Coordinate donor acknowledgments and recognitions, including award nominations, acknowledgment packages, and impact report narratives or visuals.

-Support planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, including Giving Tuesday, year-end appeals, annual impact reports and special projects—developing timelines, content, and donor engagement strategies.

-Assist in donor prospect research and portfolio management, helping segment donors and identify cultivation strategies.

-Reconcile monthly development income with the accounting team (Paybee, PayPal, SafeSave, checks).

-Support profile updates (Candid, Benevity, Central Florida Foundation).

-Collaborate on development content for newsletters, communications, marketing and meeting agendas.


Experience & Qualifications:

-Three to five (3-5) years of experience in grant writing, nonprofit development, or a related field. 

-Proven track record of securing funding from private foundations, corporations, and/or government sources. 

-Skilled and confident in creating systems in managing grant calendars, coordinating cross-departmental inputs, and submitting timely proposals and reports. Strong familiarity with donor databases (Donor Perfect preferred), tracking systems, and basic budget development is expected. 

-Naturally curious and highly dependable, this individual brings a positive attitude, strong follow-through, and a thoughtful, relationship-centered approach to every aspect of their work.

-Experience in education, literacy, or social impact work is a plus, but not required.
