Position Title: Gifts Officer
Work Schedule: 40 hours/week Work
Location: Orlando, FL (Hybrid work schedule allows for 1 remote day a week after the first 90 days.)
Immediate Supervisor: Sr. Director of Development
Position Status: Full-Time exempt
Salary Range: $65,000-$70,000
Benefits: Medical, dental, life, long-and short-term disability, employee 401K, PTO and paid holiday time. The staff works in a hybrid work environment.
Position Overview: United Arts of Central Florida (UA) is seeking a motivated and experienced front-line fundraiser to join our team. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Development, the Gifts Officer will play a crucial role in securing financial support from individual donors, specifically major gifts. This position willbuild and maintain relationships with existing donors while also identifying and cultivating new prospects. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven, self-motivated and highly organized individual to make a meaningful impact and contribute to the growth and sustainability of United Arts and the cultural sector of Central Florida.
Responsibilities:
•Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors within portfolio to maximize support for theorganization's programs and initiatives.
•Identify and research potential donors to expand donor base.
•Connect with prospects, with a focus on individuals, through personalized communication channelsincluding: emails, phone calls, letters and in-person meetings.
•Create compelling proposals and presentations tailored to the interests and priorities of donors,effectively communicating the impact of their support and the funding needs of UA.
•Contribute to UA’s Marketing & Communications efforts from a development perspective, includingcontent for website, social media, emails/newsletters, etc.
•Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in Raiser’s Edge database, tracking interactions,donations and other relevant information to inform cultivation strategies.
•Work closely with the development team, development committee and other staff members to alignfundraising efforts with organizational goals and priorities.
•Collaborate with Database and Stewardship Manager to acknowledge donor contributions promptly andthoughtfully, providing regular updates on the impact of their support and fostering a sense ofconnection and appreciation.
•Work with Sr. Director of Development to set ambitious fundraising goals and regularly report onprogress toward those goals, identifying areas for improvement and adjustment as needed.
•Fulfill duties assigned in development plan/strategy to achieve revenue targets and support theorganization's financial sustainability.
•Represent the organization at events and networking opportunities to expand UA’s visibility andconnect with potential donors.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications or a related field.
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development or related field.
•Proven track record of success in fundraising and donor cultivation of a portfolio exceeding $300,000.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively craft compelling proposals and donor communications.
•Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport and inspire support from diverse stakeholders.
•Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
•Proficiency in donor management software (preferably Raiser’s Edge), Microsoft Office Suite, Canva and donor prospecting software (preferably iWave).
•Commitment to the mission and values of United Arts of Central Florida.
•Able to travel throughout the four-county region and attend cultural events on nights and weekends outside of normal 9-5 Business hours.
•Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
