About New Hope for Kids

New Hope for Kids is a well-established 501(c)(3) charitable organization that has been helping Central Florida children in need since 1996. Our vision is to bring hope, healing and happiness to children and families suffering from grief, loss or life-threatening illnesses.

Our Purpose

New Hope for Kids provides specialized support to children and families grieving the loss of a loved one and grants wishes to Central Florida children who have been diagnosed with life-shortening illnesses. We accomplish this through our Center for Grieving Children and Wishes for Kids programs.

We are currently seeking a qualified, motivated individual who maintains high quality standards in their skill set, who is a collaborative team member, and is committed to the important work we do.

OPPORTUNITY: ADULT GRIEF SUPPORT COUNSELOR

QUALIFICATIONS: MS degree in a clinical discipline such as psychology, counseling or social work with previous supervised experience in health care, mental health or related field. An understanding of grief response and experience with counseling individuals and/or groups is needed. Must be experienced in facilitating adult support groups. Bilingual is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Part-time adult grief support counselor needed to facilitate adult grief support groups of 10-16 adults on the following schedule: Every other Tuesday, and Thursday 5:00pm-8:00pm; every Wednesday 3:30pm-7:30pm. Group size varies between 10 and 18 adults.

-Assists in conducting new family orientations as well as outreach to the community by networking with New Hope for Kids families, volunteers and other contacts.

REPORTS TO: Grief Services Director

JOB TYPE:       Part Time /Hourly, Non-exempt

SALARY:         $25/hour/rate based on professional skills and experience brought to the position

LOCATION:      Administrative Offices located at 544 Mayo Avenue, Maitland FL  32751

SCHEDULE:     Tuesdays and Thursdays for In-person Groups from 5 pm to 8 pm

                        Wednesdays as need for Virtual groups from 5 pm- 8 pm
