Nonprofit boards are facing many challenges including economic uncertainty, inflation, rising costs, workforce shortages, cyber threats, and falling endowments. This is often occurring along with an increase in the demand for services. Board performance is a critical factor in the ability of a nonprofit organization to accomplish its goals and achieve results. Investing in the capacity of the board is key to sustained organizational success. Join Alyce Lee Stansbury, CFRE, who has 30 years of nonprofit board experience, and will lead an interactive discussion of best practices regarding board operations, effective governance, recruitment, relationship with the ED, and strategic planning. This course will include a board assessment to help class participants identify strengths and areas for improvements.
To maximize the course content, attendance by the Executive Director/CEO and one Board member is highly recommended.

Alyce Lee Stansbury, CFRE, (she/her) is a 30+ year nonprofit veteran, fundraising expert, and seasoned advisor in nonprofit leadership and planning. She helps nonprofit organizations build high-performing boards; adopt strategic plans; grow fundraising results by over 200%, and exceed campaign goals by 45%. She is nationally certified as a Master Trainer and a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) since 2002. Alyce Lee writes a column called, “Notes on Nonprofits”, for the Tallahassee Democrat – USA Today Network which has published over 600 columns and counting and been an EBI instructor since 2008.
Alyce Lee understands the challenges nonprofit leaders face because she’s been there and knows what it’s like to raise money, build relationships, recruit, and engage board members, and advance a mission and vision. She is passionate about helping nonprofits thrive and works closely with volunteer boards, CEO/Executive Directors, fundraising professionals and nonprofit organizations of every size and mission.
