Special events continue to be a part of the non-profit DNA, but how we think about and what we expect from them has evolved. Whether a fundraiser, friend-raiser, community engagement opportunity or as part of a broader marketing/branding effort, how your organization thinks strategically about your events' goals can help align and prioritize the time and energy you invest in them. Learn how to maximize your special event return on investment during this upcoming session.

Learning Objectives:

  • Assess if a special event is the best method to reach your goals (e.g., fundraising, volunteerism, and marketing)
  • Recognize the major tasks required to implement a special event
  • Execute the event logistics efficiently
  • Decrease costs and maximize revenue
  • Evaluate the special event’s success

Tonisha Landry is an audience centric thought partner intentional about designing impactful and inclusive experiences. She has over 20 years’ experience developing solutions to achieve a greater return on impact from event engagements and targeted marketing campaigns.

Experience leading event operations for large scale special events and business conferences, managing teams and budgets over $4 million, employing cost efficient purchasing practices, designing user-centric experiences and enhancing attendee satisfaction.

Today, Tonisha serves as president-elect of PCMA Southeast Chapter and director of conference programming for the Institute of Internal Auditors.


Full participation in this workshop is applicable for 6 points in Category 1.B -Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.
