Improv Your Impact (In-Person)

Description

Where in our education or work experience do we learn how to think on our feet, read our audience, and provide support for our colleagues in the heat of the moment?  In this two-hour highly interactive session, participants will learn how to increase their impact in the workplace by learning the rules of Improv and how to apply them in the business world.  This workshop is for anyone who wants to improve their ability to read an audience, increase creativity, and help reduce fear and uncertainty in pivoting out of tight and uncomfortable situations.

Participants will learn:

• A deeper understanding of the ‘soft’ skills needed in the workplace
• Skills to read an audience & adjust to meet the needs of that audience
• Tactics to feel more comfortable in ambiguous situations
• To articulate the role we each play in interacting with an audience

Cost: $68 Members, $136 Non-Members

*If you are part of the Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership, this workshop may be used to fulfill your Mission Delivery elective requirement. To receive elective credit for attending a workshop, participants must be present for at least 80% of each workshop meeting date with time spent in attendance measured consecutively. 

Instructor: Keith Smith

Keith brings over three decades of progressive HR experience at The Walt Disney Company where he held various leadership roles and was a Senior Vice President of HR. Now retired from Disney, he founded Keith Smith Consulting, where he helps visionary leaders create a people-centered plan to turn great ideas into implemented realities. Leveraging his rich experience of change work in one of the top brands in the world, he enjoys getting creative, collaborative leaders where they want to be by quickly aligning teams to accelerate achievement, he believes in aligning people towards a common goal.
