Advisory Board Chairperson
**1. Leadership Experience
- Experience: Proven leadership experience in non-profit or related fields, preferably with a background in trauma healing, community development, or similar areas.
- Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, facilitate strategic discussions, and drive organizational goals.
**2. Alignment with Mission and Values
- Commitment: Strong alignment with Healing Horizons 101’s mission and values, with a genuine passion for supporting trauma recovery and personal development.
Mission: At Healing Horizons 101, our mission extends beyond faith boundaries, as we believe in the power of love, service, and healing for all. We engage in non-sectarian activities that benefit the broader community by providing education, counseling, and support to individuals regardless of faith, background, or circumstances. Grounded in biblical principles and compassionate care, we offer trauma-informed support, grief recovery, and mental health services to empower personal transformation and healing. Through collaborative efforts, we are committed to creating a space where everyone can experience restoration, dignity, and the fullness of life.

**3. Strategic Vision
- Guidance: Ability to provide strategic direction and oversight for the Advisory Board, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and mission.
- Innovation: Capacity to drive innovation in programs and initiatives, enhancing the effectiveness and reach of Healing Horizons 101’s services.
**4. Community and Stakeholder Engagement
- Networking: Skills in building and maintaining relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and potential donors.
- Advocacy: Experience in advocating for causes and initiatives related to trauma healing and personal development.
**5. Commitment to Advisory Board Duties
- Attendance: Availability to attend monthly Advisory Board meetings held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm virtually.
- Participation: Willingness to actively participate in board activities, including strategic planning and committee work.
**6. Diversity and Inclusion
- Representation: Understanding of and commitment to representing diverse communities, including individuals of different racial and ethnic backgrounds and disabilities.
- Advocacy: A strong interest in serving people of all ages to promote emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual well-being, empowering individuals to lead balanced and fulfilling lives.
**7. Skills and Expertise
- Expertise: Knowledge or experience in areas relevant to Healing Horizons 101’s mission, including trauma recovery, behavioral health, and community engagement.
- Media & Governmental Affairs: Experience or skills in media relations and governmental affairs is a plus.
**8. Fundraising and Financial Commitment
- Support: Commitment to fundraising and financial support in alignment with Healing Horizons 101’s. Reservoir policy Give and Get policy, including a $5,000 donation or fundraising commitment.
Nomination and Voting Process:
- Governance Committee Role: The Governance Committee is responsible for proposing nominations and evaluating Board members. Nominations are reviewed and approved based on alignment with organizational needs and goals.
- Subcommittee: The Governance Committee may appoint a Nominating Subcommittee to assist in the selection and recommendation of candidates for the Advisory Board.
